Romania’s net monthly average wage rose 4.2% in October to 1084 lei ($451) from RON1040 the month before, the National Institute for Statistics, or INS, said Wednesday.

The rise was due to a 15% hike of wages in the health, education and social care sectors and a 5% increase of wages in the public administration sector.

In October, airline employees saw the biggest wages, of RON2,786, followed by brokers with RON2,622. Employees in wood processing industry were at the opposite pole with RON631.
