The Romanian Parliament unanimously adopted the presidential decree declaring the state of emergency. 445 lawmakers voted "for".
The plenary session was held online, a historic moment for Parliament. For the first time, a special procedure for remote electronic voting was used.
The chairmans of the two legislative Chambers, Marcel Ciolacu and Titus Corlăţean, were present in the plenary room. The debates took place through the audio teleconferencing system. The parliamentarians had their interventions in direct telephone connection with the plenary hall.
The vote of deputies and senators was exercised through a computer application made internally.
The access to the respective web page was secured by user and password, which were communicated to each member of Parliament by SMS.
The dignitaries expressed their voting option by pressing one of the buttons: "YES", "NO", "AB" (abstention) and "NO VOTING".
