Bucharest Ring Road Expanded To Four Lanes By End-2010- Romania Transp Min

Expansion works on the Bucharest ring road to four lanes will be completed late 2010 and construction contracts on the last three ring road sections will be signed next week, Romania’s transport minister Ludovic Orban said Wednesday.

Last week, the Transport Ministry selected the winners of the auction for construction works on the last three ring road sections.

Consortium Delta ACM 93/Tehnologica Radion /SIRD/ Pro Cons XXI, whose bid amounted to EUR20.96 million, VAT not included, was selected for the first ring road section spanning over 10.6 kilometers. The consortium has one week for design works and two years for execution works.

The second ring road section spanning over 10 kilometers will be designed and executed by the consortium formed of Euroconstruct Trading/Romstrade/Consitrans, and the contract amounts to EUR26.86 million, VAT not included. Construction works will be completed in two years and design works in two months.

Execution works on the third ring road section spanning over 10.5 kilometers will be completed in two years by the consortium formed of Straco Grup/SCT Bucuresti/Genesis International/OJSC Mostobud/OJSC Altcom/Expert Proiect, while design works will take 15 days.

The Bucharest Sud ring road stretches onto 33.1 kilometers and is located between the Bucharest-Constanta highway (km 23+600) and Bucharest-Pitesti (km 55+520).
