Basescu said that if the Parliament does not accept a possible second nominee for prime minister he could sign the decree dissolving the Legislative the day after the second tour of presidential elections set for December 7, if he is reelected president.
"I am confident I have made a good decision for the country and for the parties by nominating Croitoru as prime minister," Basescu said.
Romanian President Traian Basescu on Thursday nominated Lucian Croitoru, an advisor to the central bank Governor, as Prime Minister to replace democrat liberal Emil Boc whose Cabinet lost Parliament confidence Tuesday.
