Moreover, Narcisa Cristea, the economic manager of the City Hall in Targu Jiu town in southern Romania, wrote end-October in her wealth statement that Dumitru Cristea has obtained a net salary of around RON124,000 between June 2007, when he was appointed the general manager of Turceni power plant, and June 2008.
Dumitru Cristea told MEDIAFAX on Tuesday that the annual bonus of around RON149,000 was assigned based on the legal provisions.
"It is not only a clause in my managerial performance contract, but it is stipulated in the Romanian legislation. I have reached the performance target stipulated in my contract signed with the country’s privatization authority AVAS and the Finance Ministry. The clause grants me the payment of one monthly salary for each month of activity. This means that 12 months with my net salary of RON120 million represent the exact amount I have received as bonus. It is a simple calculation," Cristea said.
Narcisa Cristea’s statement also mentions several lands and buildings bought, leased or inherited, several bank deposits totaling RON465,000 and EUR15,000, together with four agricultural lands and three inside-city lands in Targu Jiu town.
