Romania’s Social Code To Cap Benefits Granted To Individuals, Families – Labor Minister
Romanian Labor Minister Mihai Seitan told MEDIAFAX Tuesday that social benefits to be granted to individuals and families will not exceed a maximum cap to be set by the Social Code, a normative act that must be finished by the end of October.

Seitan highlighted that the new normative act will direct funds from the social security budget only to individuals and families who really need financial help.
The minister said that a part of the benefits granted currently will be eliminated. He added that the Social Code will comprise all laws regarding social assistance.
Seitan also said the draft laws amending the Labor Code and the laws on trade unions, employers' associations and collective work contracts must also be finished by the end of October.
Prime Minister Emil Boc said on August 11 that the Government plans to send the Parliament in October a legislative package to amend the Labor Code, as well as the Law on trade unions, the Law on employers' associations, and the Law on collective contracts.
