Romania’s State Domain Agency Will Lose 20% Of Its Staff Amid Restructuring – Agr Min

“The ordinance on decentralization has been amended and the agency will not be disbanded but 20% of its staff will be laid off,” Sarbu told a press conference.

Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc asked the Agriculture Ministry and the Culture Ministry in the Government meeting on Saturday to prepare by August 26 the draft normative acts for the decentralization of the two sectors.

The Agriculture Ministry said last week that ten of its 31 institutions would be transformed into five structures, according to the restructuring plan approved by the Government.

The Romanian Government decided to reorganize 226 agencies and leave only 107, by scrapping 9,200 jobs and directing their revenues to the state budget, which would translate into total savings of EUR150 million.

Of the 107 agencies that will remain following this process, 33 are conditioned by the relations between Romania and the European Union.
