Romania’s Tourist Brand Declared Genuine And Unique - Tourism Minister

The Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs), or OHIM, and the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM) have declared Romania’s tourist brand genuine and unique, the country's Tourism Minister Elena Udrea said Tuesday.

Romania’s Tourist Brand Declared Genuine And Unique - Tourism Minister

Udrea said the brand will be used in all international campaigns meant to promote Romania as a tourist destination. Udrea also said Romania's tourist brand is deemed genuine on the local market and worldwide, adding it will be used in all future campaigns, including the one to be unfolded alongside social networking website Facebook.

Romania's tourist brand, under the slogan "Explore the Carpathian garden", was launched on July 29, at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. The slogan will be used to promote Romania as a tourist destination in the upcoming years.

The creation and promotion of the tourist brand, financed through European funds, is part of a new project to promote Romania's touristic potential, for which EUR75 million is allotted until the end of 2013. The brand aims to raise Romania's foreign profile as a tourist and, indirectly, business destination.
