Romania’s Transports Minister Blasts Bechtel Over Asphalt Works On Highway

Romania’s transports minister Ludovic Orban criticized American construction company Bechtel on Saturday, as the company failed to fulfill its contract obligations and has not so far executed any asphalt works on the first eight kilometers on Transylvania highway, said Orban, adding he expects solutions, not excuses.

Orban said in a press conference, in Romania’s central city of Cluj, that Bechtel must fulfill its contract obligations, just like the Romanian authorities fulfilled theirs as to provide funds for the construction works on the highway.
“I am no longer interested in Bechtel’s explanations. I only want to see that the company fulfils its contract obligations, just like we have fulfilled ours,” Orban pointed out.
