The 3-1 win over Unirea Urziceni takes Liverpool into the Europa League round of 16 to meet Lille in March.
Unirea opened score in the 19th minute when Bruno Fernandez headed in a goal from a corner by Razvan Paduretu, but Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano struck back with a shot from about 20 meters in the 30th minute.
Dutch Ryan Babel gave the English side the lead in the 41st minute before captain Steven Gerrard sealed victory with a low strike from 10 meters out in the 57th minute.
French Jean Louis Piette was the UEFA delegate to the match and Italian Cosimo Bolognino was the referee observer.
Nearly 22,000 fans attended the match.
