Colgate-Palmolive Shuts Down Plant In C. Romania, Lays Off 45 Employees
It said operations are to be relocated to its plant in Poland by the end of the year.
The company’s reorganization plan targets three other European plants, in Anzio (Italy), Gebze (Turkey) and Salford (U.K.), Colgate-Palmolive Romania said in a statement.
“The company assured its employees in Brasov that the decision to close down the plant was not due to workers’ contribution or the efficiency of the plant,” the statement noted.
Colgate-Palmolive said closing down Brasov plant will not result in halting its operations on the Romanian market, where the company is a top player on the toothpaste segment.
