Defense Minister Gabriel Oprea said early March the last documents on the 1989 Revolution would be declassified on March 10, at the request of the General Prosecutors' Office and the "21 Decembrie 1989" Association.
The Government decided on February 10, at the request of Defense Ministry, to declassify several documents regarding the revolution which overthrew the communist regime in Romania.
The ministry said at the time that 7,617 pages described as "state secrets" were declassified.
It also said at the time the Government agreed to declassify secrete documents issued by the Defense Ministry as their declassification can no longer endanger the national security, public order or any private interests.
On January 15, the ministry declassified 1,989 documents containing 2,684 pages on the Revolution.
