Vosganian explained this decision would prevent situations similar with those in the previous election years.
"I remember the previous electoral years when the governments and parties have always adopted electoral-driven government ordinances and laws, which the new bodies did not comply with. Such measures should be left for the future governments(…)," Vosganian said after the conference "Romania Construct and Real Estate Forum 2008", organized by MEDIAFAX.
Vosganian also said the issue of public sector wages should be approached in a unitary manner and not category-based, which triggers frustrations from those feeling discriminated, giving as example doctors and nurses, employees in the education system and police officers.
Asked about the impact of the new emergency ordinance on the 50% hike of teachers’ salaries, Vosganian said these hikes require EUR1 billion more than the amount assigned for investments in education. This hike would practically “annul” all investments in the education system, Vosganian added.
