A draft emergency ordinance published Wednesday, which amends the Fiscal Code, included a provision whereby computer programmers would no longer be exempt from paying income tax.
After this information was made public, the Romanian Alliance of Employers' Organizations came out in criticism of the Government's plan, arguing that levying the income tax on IT developers would lead to an exodus of specialists and investors and turn Romania into a software importer.
