The local administration is preparing ample infrastructure works, Pojar told MEDIAFAX at the official opening of the Nokia plant in Jucu.
"The money which amounts to RON1.2 million per year comes from taxes. We will invest it in sewage, roads, infrastructure works. The money will enter the mayoralty’s budget as of the opening of the Nokia plant,” he added.
The mayor said 120 people of the 1,600 employees working in the Nokia plant are inhabitants of the commune of Jucu.
The budget of the commune was of RON6.4 million this year.
Nokia began producing mobile phones in Jucu in February 2008, and plans to design here the 1200 mobile phone model for Europe, Africa and Middle East.
The investment made by Nokia in its plant in Jucu reached EUR60 million. The production unit became operational eight months after the beginning of construction works.
Nokia estimates to make nearly ten million mobile phone units by October in its plant in Jucu, Nokia executive vice-manager Anssi Vanjoki told a press conference Wednesday.
Nokia produced in 2007 nearly 450 million mobiles, in the ten plants it owns in nine countries.
