Romanian Air Traffic Administration Employees To Be Insured For EUR1M
The Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration, or ROMATSA, will hold an auction on June 10 to acquire employee insurance policies covering loss of license, certificate, or pilot’s license, with estimated premiums of EUR 800,000-1,000,000, according to the terms of supply published Tuesday.

The total sum covered by the forthcoming insurance policy is 271.49 lei (EUR1=RON4.1186), according to the terms of supply published by the local authority on the auctioning site www.e-licitatie.ro.
The two-year insurance contract will come into force on July 7, 2010, and will cover all 1,100 Air Traffic Services Administration employees.
The minimum sum insured by the policy, which covers loss of license and death, is RON49,536 per employee, while the maximum sum is RON537,304.
Potential license, certificate or pilot's license losses for Air Traffic Services Administration employees are currently covered by the Romanian insurance company Generali, whose services were contracted by the air traffic authority in April, 2009, for EUR350,000.
The Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration, founded in 1991, functions under the authority of the Transport Ministry and provides air traffic services for civil aircrafts overflying Romania.
