The quake occurred at a depth of 130 kilometers with a level III intensity on the Mercalli scale at the epicenter.
On May 12, an earthquake with a 4.2 magnitude on the Richter scale also occurred in Vrancea and it was not felt in Bucharest.
On April 25, an earthquake of a 5.3 degrees magnitude on the Richter scale occurred in Vrancea and was felt in capital city Bucharest with an intensity of 3-4 degrees on the Mercalli scale.
The quake was also felt in the Republic of Moldova and northern Bulgaria.
