On June 19, Liberal Party president Crin Antonescu submitted a complaint against Ridzi, alleging she abused her position and embezzled funds spent by the Ministry organizing festivities on Youth Day.
Judicial sources told MEDIAFAX on Monday that the High Court decided to forward the case to the National Anticorruption Department.
Liberal leader Crin Antonescu said the party would also address the Chamber of Deputies regarding this case, as Ridzi is a democrat liberal lawmaker. Antonescu also demanded Ridzi’s resignation.
In a press conference held Friday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports said the events organized on May 2 cost about EUR620,000 and minister Iacob Ridzi said she doesn’t regret how much she had to spend because she was happy with the result and 100,000 people had fun.
