The Romanian authorities located another ancient gold Dacian bracelet from the 15 bracelets that have been illegally taken out of the country back in 2002 and are close to retrieve it from an undisclosed location in the U.S., Culture Minister Adrian Iorgulescu said Saturday.

“We are about to retrieve the tenth bracelets, which is currently in the U.S.; it will be brought in Europe, we will authenticate it and we will find the financial resources to buy it back,” Iorgulescu said.

The spiral-shaped bracelets, which were made by the Dacians, the forefathers to the Romanians, weigh one kilogram (2.2 pounds) each, and are crafted from gold mined in the Carpathian Mountains in the first century.

The bracelets are believed to have been taken out of Romania in 2002 by unknown people.

Due to their age, the bracelets were considered to be part of Romania's national heritage and it was illegal to export them.
