The representatives of Romanian taxi drivers met earlier today with ministry officials, following a spontaneous half-hour protest attended by 200 drivers in front of the ministry building.
The protesters demanded faster approval of the norms regulating their field of activity, arguing they otherwise risk losing transportation licenses.
Victor Stan, president of the National Union of Romanian Drivers, told MEDIAFAX the authorities have been stalling adopting the norms for over two months, despite their many protests and several promises that the regulation would be elaborated shortly after the enforcement of Law 265/2007 on taxi transportation.
