Romanian Authorities Pull Down Illegal Constructions In Mamaia Seaside Resort

Romania’s Dobrogea Litoral Water Administration (DADL) started Monday morning to pull down all illegal constructions on the beaches of Mamaia resort on the Black Sea coast, following recent talks between environment minister Nicolae Nemirschi, hotel owners and local authorities.

The water administration spokesperson, Catalin Anton, said the measure targets illegal constructions due for demolition late last year.

Anton pointed out that nearly 30 constructions should have been pulled down late last summer, adding hotel owners were informed on the decision last Saturday.

He also said that hotel owners would pay all demolition costs.
