"It will be Romania's first true boutique-hotel. We have been working on it with Austrian architects for four years. The hotel will have a spa and an outdoor pool," Copos told MEDIAFAX.
Boutique-hotels are usually small and stand out through their design and intimate ambiance.
Copos said the hotel would be built on the structure of Sport Hotel, which he owns in Poiana Brasov, with only the outer walls being used.
Work is scheduled to begin on March 15.
Copos said talks are already underway to link the hotel to an international chain. Furthermore, the business man said a project to reshape the entire tourist area of Poiana Brasov is being developed.
"There will be more than 60 hectares of ski slopes, a 122,000 cubic meter lake and two chairlifts. The investment will amount to EUR25 million, which will come from European funds," Copos said.
Copos also announced he will invest EUR12 million into upgrading the Hilton and Crowne Plaza hotels he owns in Bucharest. "We will restyle all of Hilton's public areas with a London architecture firm and give the hotel its 1916 design. Work will begin in two weeks," Copos said, adding that the money will come from bank loans.
Copos signed Friday a contract making low cost airline Blue Air co-partner of football club Rapid. The businessman did not reveal the contract's value, but said the partnership will last until the end of the return matches and may be extended.
