The discussions on the plan drawn up by the mayoralty were held between officials of the Bucharest mayoralty, the Environment Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the traffic police and the National Research Institute in Constructions.
The acoustic map of the city was completed in April 2007 and the noise-reduction action plan was completed in June 2008 and will be submitted for approval to the Bucharest general council following public debates, said Sorin Nastasa, representative of the environmental department in the Bucharest mayoralty.
The Bucharest mayoralty launched mid-June the study regarding the action plan for noise reduction in Bucharest, which it posted on its website, www.pmb.ro.
According to the study, Bucharest needs to have quality streets, air traffic restrictions during nighttime and better insulated homes.
