Romanian Car Indus EUR7.2B In ‘07 Vs EUR5.6 On Yr-Dacia Oficial
Romania’s car industry reached EUR7.2 billion in 2007, up against EUR5.6 billion in 2006, an official of Automobile Dacia SA, the local unit of French carmaker Renault, said Monday.

“Last year, Romania’s car industry registered revenues of EUR7.2 billion, from EUR5.6 billion in 2006. The exports counted for EUR1.7 billion,” Dacia vice-president Constantin Stroe said.
The two carmakers operating on the Romanian market, namely Dacia and Automobile Craiova, manufactured 241,712 units in 2007, up 13.2% on year, according to data of the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association, or APIA.
Domestic car sales reached 110,902 units in the mentioned interval, down 6.9% compared to 2006, APIA said.
