Romanian Car Park Up 1.8% On Year, To 5.42M Vehicles
Romania's car park grew last year by 1.8%, to more than 5.42 million vehicles, including 4.3 million passenger cars, 6.4% higher than in 2009, according to the data of the Interior Ministry's Driving License and Vehicle Registration Department (DRPCIV).

Most vehicles, almost 60%, use petrol engines.
By age, most vehicles, almost 1.3 million, were between six and ten years old; 1.1 million were between three and five years old, and almost 640,000 were less than two years old. There were 932,000 vehicles older than 20 years.
The majority of vehicles, 1.17 million, were registered in Bucharest, followed by Timis County, with more than 203,000 units, and Cluj County, with more than 202,000 units. The fewest vehicles were registered in Tulcea County - 40,500 units.
Last year, Romania's car park also included almost 500,000 utility vehicles, 50,000 tractors and about 26,000 motorcycles. There were also more than 172,000 registered trailers and 370 caravans. The bus and minivan park numbered around 40,000 vehicles.
The number of new car registrations dropped 18.5% last year, to 94,541 units, according to the DRPCIV.
