Romanian Carmaker Dacia Might Raise Duster Output To Over 650 Units Per Day
The production of Dacia Duster, the first SUV made by Romanian carmaker Automobile Dacia, might soon reach or even top the production of the Dacia Sandero model, which stands at 650 units per day, Renault Romania general manager Jerome Olive said Wednesday.

Olive also said that, depending on demand, the Duster model might account for even half of Automobile Dacia's total output. So far, he added, orders for Duster topped expectations on all markets where the SUV is available.
Automobile Dacia's currently makes 450 Dusters per day, while its total car output currently hits 1,400 cars per day. Olive also said the plant's guaranteed output level reaches 1,375 units.
France's Renault Group, majority owner of Automobile Dacia, on Wednesday opened a car parts center in Arges county, southern Romania, which became the group's biggest center outside France.
The center, which stretches onto 65,000 square meters, employs 160 people, stores over 70,000 types of car parts and ensures the distribution of car parts and accessories for brands Dacia, Renault and Nissan, in 33 countries.
According to Renault officials, export operations account for 40% of the center's turnover. The car parts and accessories stored here are provided by 369 suppliers, of which, 206 Romanian companies.
Dacia launched its low-cost SUV at the Geneva auto salon early March, at prices ranging from EUR10,500 to EUR15,600.
The Dacia range comprises seven models - the Duster, the Logan, the Logan MCV, the Sandero, the Sandero Stepway, the Logan VAN and the Logan Pick-Up.
