Boc added that Romania’s agriculture, tourism, energy and auto industry are competitive, and that the workforce and property are still cheap, compared to other EU countries. „Those who invest now are going to come out of this recession and financial crisis as winners,” Boc said during the Mediafax Talks about Auto Industry conference in Bucharest.

According to the prime pinister, the negative effects of the crisis in Romania were kept at a minimum in 2009 and 2010, through ensuring macroeconomic stability, keeping inflation, certain deficits and the euro-leu exchange rate under control, and not altering the main taxes.

Government officials and auto industry representatives met Tuesday at the Mediafax Talks about Auto Industry conference, organized by news agency Mediafax and the Romanian Association of Carmakers and Importers (APIA), to discuss the clunkers program, the stage of foreign investments in the industry and its development outlook.
