Chauvet didn't say when the version would be launched or the markets it targets.
According to the product manager, Daniel Sasarean, the LPG-fueled Duster could be very successful on a market such as Italy, which has a higher demand for vehicles using this type of fuel.
In Romania, the Duster is available only in gasoline and diesel-fueled versions with prices ranging from EUR10,500 to EUR15,600.
The Duster was launched on March 2 this year at the Geneva motor show.
The Romanian carmaker's low-cost SUV will also be launched this spring in Europe, Turkey, Africa and Magreb (Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Mauritania). The Duster will also be available as of June, under the Renault brand, in Ukraine, the Middle East (Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt) and some African countries.
Starting 2004, Dacia sold over 1.2 million cars in more than 80 countries.
