Romanian CEC Car Deposits Transferred To BRD To Be State Compensated As Well

Romanian MPs decided, Wednesday that the state will also offer compensations to people who deposited money to savings bank CEC in view of purchasing a Dacia car, and transferred that money to the BRD bank before February 15, 1992.

The Chamber of Deputies enacted Emergency Ordinance no. 156/2007 compensating individuals who deposited money at CEC in view of purchasing a car, introducing also an amendment regarding the compensations granted to individuals who kept money at BRD.

The Parliament recently approved a law granting compensations to individuals who deposited money at CEC before 1989 in view of purchasing a Dacia car, but the mentioned law did not address the people who transferred this money to BRD.

The Chamber of Deputies has the final say in this matter.
