The minimum reserve requirements ratios currently stand at 30% for foreign currency liabilities, and at 15% for leu liabilities.
Analysts expected the central bank to keep the key rate unchanged, although some were betting on a 25 basis points reduction.
In its Tuesday meeting, the central bank's Board also decided to ensure a firm management of liquidity in the banking system in order to consolidate the transmission of its monetary policy signals.
In its last monetary policy meeting in September, the central bank lowered the key rate by 50 basis points. It was the fifth rate cut this year, from 10.25% in January.
