Romanian Clunkers Program Vouchers To Expire After November 23

According to data presented by the minister, 21,300 cars have so far been bought using these vouchers, including 8000 Romanian-made cars. Last year, most people who bought cars through the program used three vouchers, the maximum number allowed.

This year, the Environment Fund Administration allotted 120,000 vouchers, which were all distributed. The minister warned that the vouchers can be issued by authorized collectors only until November 21, 2011 and may be used by the owners until November 23. Refund requests may be filed by validated producers until November 25 at the latest and the refund will be disbursed until December 12.

Companies interested in the clunkers program must submit their applications by October 15.

Applications to buy tractors through this program can be received until November 10.
