Romanian Const Court: Laws On Pensions, Teachers’ Wage Hike, Court of Accounts Are Constitutional

The entire statement of the Constitutional Court:

“In the meeting of October 15, 200, the Constitutional Court addressed three intimations which were formulated before the promulgation of the law, based on article 146 letter a) of the Constitution, as follows:

The intimation on the unconstitutionality of the law amending and improving Law no. 19/2000 on the public system of pensions and other social insurance rights, made by the Romanian Government.

The Court decided unanimously that the law is constitutional.

The intimation on the unconstitutionality of the law approving Government Ordinance no. 15/2008 on increasing wages of the staff in the education system, made by the Romanian Government.

The Court decided by majority of votes that the law is constitutional.

The intimation on the unconstitutionality of some provisions of the law amending and improving Law no. 94/1992, on the organization and functioning of the Court of Accounts, made by the Romanian President.

The Court decided by majority of votes that the respective texts are constitutional.

The motivation for the solutions found by the Constitutional court will be included in the body of the decisions, to be published in the Official Gazette, Part I.,

The decisions are final and compulsory, and will be communicated to the President of Romania in order to be promulgated, based in article 77 paragraph 3 of the Constitution.
