The Romanian Constitutional Court noted Wednesday that the aspects notified by the High Council of Magistrates (CSM) do not fit within the parameters of a legal conflict of constitutional nature.

The Court ruled on the request to solve a legal conflict of constitutional nature between the judicial authority, represented by the High Council of Magistrates, on the one hand, and the Executive authority, represented by the Romanian Government and the Ministry of Justice and Citizen Liberties, on the other hand, a request formulated by the president of the High Council of Magistrates.
Following debates, the Constitutional Court decided unanimously that the aspects notified by the High Council of Magistrates do not fit within the parameters of a legal conflict of constitutional nature, as stated in article 146, letter e). of the Romanian Constitution.
The Court’s decision is final and binding, and is published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I.
