Romanian Revolutionaries Stage Protest In Downtown Bucharest

According to Georgian Enache, spokesman of the Bucharest riot police force, protesters did not have permission to protest in the Univesity Square. Security forces are trying to direct them to the Constitution Square, where their action is allowed.

Protesters clashed with the riot police, who intervened to relieve traffic blocked by demonstrators. The latter accused the police of using tear gas.

Protesters are members of the National Bloc of Revolutionaries, whose honorary president is former President Ion Iliescu.
