„There are signs the economy will stabilize in 2011 and the construction market will recover. Due to budget constraints, we weren’t able to do everything we wanted to keep construction activities at a regular level, but we have worked on regulation,” Udrea said during the Romania Construct Forum seminar, organized by MEDIAFAX.

Udrea said the Romanian construction market could recover next year, as public-private partnerships to be launched next year should bring funding for the construction of homes, road infrastructure and sewage.

The Romanian construction market is expected to drop 35-40% from EUR12.6 billion in 2009, when it was also declining. The Romanian Association of Construction Entrepreneurs (ARACO) expects the construction market to make a recovery in 2012.
