Romanian Court Puts Alleged Car Thieves Into Custody
The Bucharest district 1 court ruled Wednesday morning to place Tinel Niculae and Paul Mihalache into custody for 29 days on charges of theft and accessory to theft and to probe Ilie Alexandru, nicknamed Sandu Geamanu, at large, for alleged blackmail and concealment to car thefts.

Niculae’s defendant, Nicoleta Anghel, said her client has nothing to do with the recent theft involving the car of Andrei Hrebenciuc, son of social democrat vice-president Viorel Hrebenciuc.
