According to employment agency data, 22,357 people will be laid off in February, 10,510 in March, 830 in April and 140 in May.
A total 321 companies announced plans to scrap jobs and the most are in capital city Bucharest (21 companies) and counties (20), Cluj and Prahova (18 each), Galati (17), Bihor (14), Arges (13), Hunedoara (12), Arad (11), Iasi and Timiş (10 each).
The agency added 32,069 jobs will be cut in private companies, 1,405 in state-owned companies and 363 in joint-ventures.
The most affected sectors are oil and natural gas extraction, where 3,746 people will be left jobless, the carmaking industry (3,405), the chemical industry (3,335) and constructions (2,667).
