Romanian Dacia Logan Sales In Russia Up 12% In Jan-August 2010
Romanian carmaker Dacia sold 39,389 Logan models in Russia in the first eight months of 2010, up 12% from 2009, ranking fifth among the best-sold brands, in a market which grew 14%, to 1,135,074 cars.

In August 2010, Dacia sold 4,078 Logan models on the Russian market, 6% less than the 4,320 units sold in August 2009, according to the data of the Auto Constructor Commission with the Association of European Companies in the Russian Federation.
Logan is the Renault group's only model among the 25 best-sold cars on this market.
The Russian car market grew 14% in the eight-month period, to 1,135,074 units, and by 51% in August 2010 compared to August 2009, to 168,627 units.
Eight of the ten-best sold car models are manufactured in Russia. Lada produces five of the eight most popular cars: Lada 2105/2107 (1), Priora (2), Samara (3), Kalina (4) and Lada 4X4 (8).
Renault owns the Avtoframos factory near Moscow, which produces the Logan and Sandero models. In 2010, the factory's capacity was doubled to 160,000 units annually.
The French group ranked fifth in the January-August interval, with 57,230 cars sold, up 17%.
In March, Russia launched a car park renewal program, granting scrap bonuses of around EUR1,200. The state has set aside around EUR277 million for this program, which is due to end in November.
