Romanian Dacia Logan Sales In Russia Up 15% In Jan-July 2010
Romanian carmaker Dacia sold 35,311 Logan models in Russia in the first seven months of 2010, up 15% from 2009, ranking fifth among the best-sold brands, in a market which grew 9%, to 963,688 cars.

In July, Logan sales increased 11%, to 5,685 units, from 5,121 units in the same month of last year, according to the data of the Auto Constructor Commission with the Association of European Companies in the Russian Federation.
Logan is the Renault group's only model among the 25 best-sold cars on this market. Sales of Dacia Sandero fell in July, after ranking 24th in the January-June period, with 6,128 units sold.
The Russian car market grew 48% in July, to 173,171 units, from 117,264 units last year.
Five of the seven best-sold models belong to local producer Lada: Priora (1), Lada 2105/2107 (2), Samara (3), Kalina (4) and Lada 4x4 (7). Ford Focus is 6th.
Renault owns the Avtoframos factory near Moscow, which produces the Logan and Sandero models. In 2010, the factory's capacity was doubled to 160,000 units annually.
The French group ranked fifth in the January-July interval, with 50,801 cars sold, up 17%, from 43,264 units sold in the same interval last year.
In March, Russia launched a car park renewal program, granting scrap bonuses of around EUR1,200. The state has set aside around EUR277 million for this program, which is due to end in November.
