Romanian liberals and the democrat-liberals have recently talked about a potential parliamentary collaboration and about supporting a potential minority government formed of the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) and the Hungarian minority party (UDMR), which might be created due to incongruities between the democrat liberals and the social democrats, liberal sources told MEDIAFAX.

The same sources said several democrat liberal leaders contacted liberals and supposedly proposed the latter a “governing coalition” as well as to keep availability for further negotiations, which, somehow suggested liberals that the democrat liberals failed to reach a concrete agreement with the social democrats on the future governing structure.
 
Sources close to the matter also said that talks between liberals and democrat liberals continued even after the democrat liberals and social democrats officially announced they would form the future government.
 
Several liberal leaders said the democrat liberals’ “proposals” target to “determine” the social democrats to be less demanding when it comes to minister seats.
 
The same sources pointed out that the liberals would rather back a minority government to keep tighter grip on the ruling coalition.
