Canadian Group SNC-Lavalin Takes Over Romania’s Romproiect
The Canadian official did not offer any details regarding the identity of the second company targeted or the value of the two transactions.
The two companies will supply the Canadians with a stronger position on the Romanian and eastern European market, according to a press release issued by the group.
SNC-Lavalin is currently unfolding several projects in Romania and Europe, and was one of the companies that purchased the participation documents in the auction for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 of the nuclear power plant at Cernavoda. Authorities, however, selected other companies for the project.
The Canadian group is represented in 36 countries and is unfolding projects in some 100 states.
Romproiect is active in architecture, design, consultancy, project management for civil constructions, industrial constructions and land improvement. Projects currently unfolded by the company include the shopping center networks Euromall – Pitesti and Galati -, Galleria – Buzau, Piatra Neamt and Suceava -, hotels – Palas, Union – and residential complexes.
