Romania’s unemployment might grow in the coming months, but the government should solve the issue and show confidence in the economic recovery, IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said Tuesday in Bucharest.

Strauss-Kahn said that, in April and May, some Romanians might lose their jobs in the coming months, but it’s up to the government to solve the employment problem.

Romania’s economy fell by more than 7% last year, but the authorities expect a slight growth in 2010.

Strauss-Kahn arrived Tuesday in Bucharest for a one-day visit, during his tour to Europe.
