"I will gain a better picture of what needs to be done and with whom I should begin. I'm thinking of starting negotiations as soon as possible, in fact I will start them Friday," Croitoru said.
Asked if he set up a meeting with the democrat liberals, he said such a meeting has been set up for Friday, but the agenda is not yet final.
He added the talks at the government included a review of all issues on the government's current agenda, including the draft budget for 2009.
"We spoke of the budget, but we didn't have time to get into details," Croitoru said.
The designated prime minister, Lucian Croitoru, left the government headquarters, after approximately one hour and a half.
