„We have not gone into the details of restructuring at these companies, but they have met the targets set in the revenue and expenditure budget before September,” Tanasescu said at the end of talks with the Economy Minister Ion Ariton.

The three companies controlled by the Economy Ministry and monitored by the IMF are thermal power generator Termoelectrica, coal company CNH and power plant operator Electrocentrale Bucuresti.

Jeffrey Franks, head of the IMF delegation to Romania, said before the meeting with Ariton that talks could focus on the operations of companies controlled by the Economy Ministry.

Other IMF-monitored companies include CFR, CFR Calatori, highway administrator CNADNR, subway company Metrorex, CFR Marfa, Electrificare CFR and the land improvement administration ANIF.
