Romanian Ed Ministry’s Unpaid Bills Worth RON1,200B To Be Included In ’08 Budget Def

The leaders of Romania’s governing coalition decided that last year’s unpaid bills worth 1,200 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.2314) belonging to the Education Ministry will not be paid from the 2009 budget, and will be included in last year’s budget deficit, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX.

The quoted sources said including the unpaid bills in the budget deficit for 2008 does not touch the Education Ministry’s budget for this year.

Thus, the Education Ministry will be assigned more than 5% of the gross domestic product, sources said.
