The Alliance of Employer Confederations in Romania (ACPR) rejects as illegitimate the private sector national collective work contract signed Friday by unions and four employer confederations, the alliance said in a press release Saturday.

Romanian Employers Alliance Rejects Private Sector Collective Work Contract

According to the press release, the national collective work contract in the private sector can be considered valid only after it is signed by all 13 employer confederations.

The alliance will decide on the steps to be taken against the act on Tuesday, reads the press release.

Romanian unionists and employers on Friday signed a national collective work contract which sets the minimum wage in the private sector at 700 lei (EUR1=RON4.2899) and increases wages of qualified workers and foremen.

According to the collective work contract, salaries of employees with university degrees will remain at a level of RON1,200.

The wage quotient for qualified workers will be of 1.1, which will increase their salaries to RON770, from RON720. The quotient for foremen was set at 1.3, and their salaries will thus rise to RON910, from RON780.

The collective contract introduces a minimum salary per hour, whose value was set at RON4.118.
