Romanian Ex PM Makes Comeback On Political Scene
Former Romanian prime minister Adrian Nastase was elected president of the National Council of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), with 418 votes, against Dan Mircea Popescu, for whom 202 delegates voted, while 28 votes were annulled.

Also, Aristide Roibu was elected party treasurer, with 624 pros and 39 cons.
Upon the announcement of the results, participants in the reunion applauded and shouted "Nastase! Nastase!".
Adrian Nastase was congratulated by Mircea Geoana, and the two hugged. He was also congratulated by his opponent Dan Mircea Popescu, PSD honorary president Ion Iliescu, Viorel Hrebenciuc, and Ion Stan.
