Romanian Ex-PM Radu Vasile Hospitalized
Romanian former Prime Minister Radu Vasile was admitted on July 30 to Bucharest’s University Emergency Hospital with gastrointestinal problems which appeared after undergoing cytostatic treatment for his colon cancer, according to people close to his family.

The sources said Vasile underwent surgery and cytostatic treatment in Israel. He fell sick on Thursday and was brought to the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital.
Hospital spokesman Dr. Bogdan Popescu confirmed that the former prime minister was hospitalized on July 30 with gastrointestinal problems, but could not give further details. Popescu did say that Vasile is recovering and may be discharged by the end of the week.
Once the former prime minister's condition becomes stable again, he will return to Israel to continue the treatment, the sources said.
