Romanian Fashion Designers Auction Off Christmas Trees For Charity

Famous Romanian fashion designers, such as Irina Marinescu, Kinga Varga and Carla Szabo, will auction off 18 fir-trees within the 2008 Charity Gala of the eighth edition of the Christmas Tree Festival to be held on December 8.

Celebrities decorate the trees every year and the funds raised within the auction are donated to the organization “Save the Children.”

The funds allow the organization to carry on its social and school reintegration programs for underprivileged children in Romania.

This year, the Festival will start with EUR174,000 offered by the sponsors of the event.

The previous six editions of the Festival brought EUR718,200 to the organization and over EUR630,000 were raised in 2007 alone.
