Romanian Film Director Sergiu Nicolaescu In Hospital After Slight Head Injury
Oprita said Nicolaescu injured his forehead but never lost consciousness and would stay in the hospital for at least 24 hours.
In May last year, Nicolaescu spent a few days in the hospital over digestive problems. In January 2008, the director underwent two brain surgeries and doctors removed a haematoma that had formed after a fall. Just days after surgery, Nicolaescu was again rushed to the hospital, this time for heart problems. He recovered at the end of January 2008.
Nicolaescu, a senator, is Romania’s most prolific director and has made over 70 films throughout his career.
